Cook co-wrote 9 songs from his debut, along with songwriters like Chris Cornell, Brian Howes & Cathy Dennis. Some have made albums that knocked my socks off e.g. Carrie Underwood, Jordan Sparks, and Kelly Clarkson and then some not so much e.g. Ruben & Fantasia. David Cook blew me away with how great an album he created. David Cook helped write the lyrics on nearly all (if not all) songs and his words really tear at my heart strings. He is emotionally vulnerable and honest and it really comes through in each song. He totally surpassed all my expectations, and to be honest, I expected his album to be good anyway. He outdid himself on every episode of American Idol and once again he outdid himself on his first album put out by 19 Entertainment. Songs to check out: A Daily Anthem (+ the secret song on this track at 12:00 minutes "Kiss On The Neck"), Permanent, Life On The Moon (about his "spiritual" journey on American Idol) & Bar-Ba-Sol Definitely buy this album. First time I played the CD I thought it was my player--but it happens on all of them I try. C'mon, I didn't buy a CD to listen to quiet! In order to hear track 13 I have to advance it myself.
