Customer Reviews: do not buy March 24, 2008Magdalene Moulatsiotis 3 out of 3 found this review helpful This is a bad program. I wanted to save some money so I bought this as it was the cheapest. I found out why. It's worthless. Don't waste your money. talk it, don't type it!! May 14, 2006E. O' Carroll (Ireland) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful This was the most disappointing and useless purchase ever. Despite exhausting voice training, it typed everything except what I said. Don't waste your money. I would'nt even give it one star. TalkItTypeIt 2 much better value than Dragon January 22, 2006Brian Austin 29 out of 34 found this review helpful The newest version TalkItTypeIt- TalkItTypeIt 2 (Standard, Deluxe and Ultra versions)works great and saves a lot of money vs. the Dragon competitor. The new Microsoft 6.1 voice recognition engine in TalkItTypeIt 2 has a very high level of accuracy- many feel that it is superior to Dragon's, and the Ultra version also includes voice navigation that works amazingly well, allowing complete hands free operation of the PC. Unlike the directional navigation in Dragon (move up, move left, etc.), TalkItTypeIt 2 Ultra provide direct access to any point on the screen just by saying the word you are trying to navigate to. Pop up hint tags get associated with the word, and saying the number associated with the hint tag is just like cliking the mouse button. This "screen recognition" technology is truly amazing. For anyone interested in trying voice recognition software without breaking the budget, this product deserves your attention with prices starting at only $29.95- with a voice microphone headest. You won't be dissapointed. Disappointing December 16, 2005TheCafeWriter (Chicago, IL USA) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful I ran it on a Windows ME machine and every time you open Talk It Type It, it places a toolbar at the top of the desktop. That's not a bad thing - until you close the software. It leaves a blank space where the toolbar was, and reopening the program places the toolbar *below* that space. (Refreshing the desktop does not fix this.) Despite repeated training sessions, I had major problems when it came to the software distinguishing commands from words. Half the time, it typed instead of responding to commands like "capitalize," "new paragraph," "scratch that," "delete that," and "delete [word]." (As you might guess, I had to use those last 3 a lot.) I suppose it's fine for instant messaging, but I wouldn't use it beyond that. | |||||||||||
