No plastic smell. 0.75 liters do not fit on most car cup holders. Cap has a valve for air intake (I think) while you are sipping. I bought 4 bottles (different size but same cap) only one cap works nicely. Valves on other caps do not seem to be letting air in properly and are just a little bit harder to drink from. If you want to take a big gulp of water, you may get a little frustrated. But, they all work. Frivolous, but a dirty pleasure January 1, 2009E. M. You could buy a single squeeze bottle of water at a convienence store and refill it dozens of times for the price of this bottle. But if you're going to indulge in this particular instance of conspicuous consumption, this is the water bottle to buy. An internal straw so you don't have to tilt your head back, a bite valve and a valve in the spout so it doesn't leak. The lever to open the valve is well designed and easy to use with one hand. My favorite thing is not having to twist open a cap every time I want a drink. The bite valve is great, spill-proof and has no taste. The bottle also does not make the water taste like plastic, as my other water bottles did. Also, it says top-rack dishwasher safe only, but my husband washed it on the bottom and it didn't do anything to the bottle. Not that I recommend doing that, I just was happy that it wasn't ruined. I'm going to buy more of these because they're so great! The best water bottle I've ever owned and I've owned many. great water bottle December 30, 2008A.
